Exciting Senior Peer Coordinator role at West Moreton Health! The Senior Peer Coordinator works to facilitate the delivery, development, and planning of support services to consumers of the MHACHSS. The Senior Peer Coordinator promotes and provides guidance to the development and ongoing management of consumer participation and provide systems advocacy in relation to consumer, carer, and family related issues. The position facilitates and manages broad systemic change and initiates activities to ensure service provision is consumer focused and recovery orientated.οΎ

About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Ability to provide consumer focused advocacy and support for consumers that maintains a balance between the clinical and therapeutic needs of consumers and their constitutional and common law rights as citizens
- Demonstrate effective communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to convey consumer's needs to key stakeholders including service managers and clinical service providers
- Demonstrated experience in proactively identifying areas and making recommendations for improvements to mental health service planning, delivery and evaluation from the perspective of mental health consumers to ensure services are consumer focused and recovery orientated
- Ability to work consultatively as a member of a team to identify, represent and advocate for consumer needs at all levels of service planning, development, delivery and evaluation
- Demonstrated ability to provide workforce management, including day-to-day operations, professional development and performance monitoring
- Ability to support workers in line with contemporary human resource management work practices at both the broad and specific level with reference to recruitment, training, Workplace Health and Safety, Employment Equity, Anti Discrimination and Ethical Behaviour.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
