About the role
The Assistant in Nursing works within the Relief Pool, Patient Flow Services at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital, providing nursing and midwifery team support under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse or midwife. This position plays an important role in supporting the delivery of safe, person-centred care across a variety of clinical areas throughout the hospital.
The successful candidate will undertake delegated nursing care activities, monitor and report changes in a patient's condition, and contribute to the effective functioning of clinical teams. Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals, they will support quality patient outcomes while maintaining high standards of safety, communication and professional practice.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Provide nursing and midwifery support and undertake delegated care activities under the supervision of a registered nurse or midwife.
- Monitor consumers and promptly report changes in health status or clinical concerns to the supervising nurse or midwife.
- Contribute to the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care across a range of inpatient and clinical service areas.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to support effective communication, patient safety and service delivery.
- Assist in identifying risks, reporting incidents and participating in quality improvement activities that enhance clinical care and workplace safety.
