About this role
About the work unit:
The Adult Acute Mental Health Inpatient Unit (AAMHIU) is a 38-bed acute inpatient service located at The Townsville Hospital. The unit delivers specialised care to consumers experiencing acute episodes of mental illness. The unit is a recovery focused service, providing safe and contemporary care in a least restrictive setting. The unit operates on the principles of a multi-disciplinary approach. The AAMHIU is a locked facility to maximise the safety of our patients, with services provided either in the 30 bed Low Dependency Unit (LDU) with gender-specific living areas or in the 8 bed High Dependency Unit (HDU).

Competitive salary and benefits:
We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.
- Salary range: $80,016 to $116,189 p.a. (NG6-1).
- 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading.
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.
- Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available.
About your opportunity:
The Clinical Nurse will work collaboratively with consumers and multi-disciplinary professionals to provide clinical care and a therapeutic environment conducive to the dignity and well-being of consumers and carers within the Mental Health Service.
All staff within the Mental Health Service Group may be required to work in other area's of the service.
Requirements:
- Mandatory qualifications and proof of registration (AHPRA).
- Possession of class C drivers' licence.
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
- Probation period may apply.
- Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
