This Allied Health Assistant Trainee (Identified) position offers a six-month opportunity for Deadly Start alumni to build on the skills, knowledge and experience gained through their traineeship. By working alongside experienced allied health professionals within multidisciplinary teams, you'll be support to further develop your clinicals skills, gain hands-on experience and showcase your readiness for future Allied Health Assistant opportunities in Queensland Health.
This role is designed to be a supported transition into the health workforce, providing intentional opportunity for Deadly Start alumni to consolidate their learning, grow their confidence and gain clinical experience as an Allied Health Assistant.

Competitive salary and benefits:
Generous remuneration package value up to $4400 p.m. comprising:
- Salary range: $31.58 to $34.31 p.h. (CA2)
- 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
- Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available
About your opportunity:
Join Townsville HHS as an Allied Health Trainee (Identified) and contribute to the delivery of safe and effective patient care. Working under the delegation of allied health professionals, you'll provide clinical care and health screening, support patients throughout their care, and assist with clinical resources and patient information. You'll wokr collaboratively within allied health teams while building practical skills and experience in a supportive learning environment.
Requirements:
- Certficate III in Allied Health Assistance (or equivalent) is highly desirable
- Under the s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
- Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
