Older Persons Mental Health Service (OPMHS) is a community-based consultation and liaison service providing assessment and treatment for older adults with mental health conditions. The team supports GPs and aged care providers, specialising in dementia care and age-related neurodegenerative disorders.

Competitive salary and benefits
- Salary between $39.86 – $58.59 per hour (HP3).
- 4 to 6 weeks p.a. recreational leave with 14-17.5% loading.
- Generous employer contribution to superannuation of 12.75%.

About your opportunity
As an Occupational Therapist within OPMHS, you will provide short-term case management, assessment, and intervention for older persons with mental health disorders. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, deliver psycho-geriatric consultancy, and contribute to service improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
- While not mandatory, eligibility for appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner under the Mental Health Act 2016 would be well regarded.
- Ongoing professional development relevant to the delivery of specialist Mental Health Services to maintain appropriate registration and/or association requirements is a requirement of all staff within the MHSG.
- All employees of the Mental Health Service Group may be required to work in other areas of the Service.
- Evidence of vaccination against VPDs as per Queensland Health policy.
- Current Class C driver's licence.
- Ability to travel across service sites within the Townsville HHS region.
- A probationary period may apply.
