The Ingham Health Service is a 28-bed facility delivering Level 3 CFCS services, including maternity, emergency, medical imaging, pharmacy, and allied health. Located in the Hinchinbrook Shire, Ingham offers a vibrant rural lifestyle with access to stunning natural attractions such as Hinchinbrook Island and Wallaman Falls.

Competitive salary and benefits
- Salary between $6980.10 – $10221.70 per fortnight (L13–L27).
- 4 to 6 weeks p.a. recreational leave with 14-17.5% loading.
- Generous employer contribution to superannuation of 12.75%.

About your opportunity
As a Senior Medical Officer (Rural Generalist – Anaesthetics), you will provide medical leadership and high-quality clinical care across inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings. This role offers the chance to work in a rural hospital environment, contribute to teaching and research, and make a meaningful impact on the health of the Hinchinbrook community.
Requirements
- Current registration or eligibility for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Either:
- Currently enrolled with the Australian General Practice Training Program or alternatives available including RVTS or Independent pathway
- Fellowship of either the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) or the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) is preferred
- Ideally the candidate would be a Rural Generalist with:
- successful completion of advanced skills training in Anaesthetics ( JCCA, Dip RGA, Advanced Certification in Rural Generalist Anaesthesia ) or about to complete training year ( pending examination)
- This position may also have the incumbent to work at other facilities including Townsville University Hospital to maintain skills within anaesthesia.
- Class C driver's licence.
- Evidence of vaccination against VPDs as per Queensland Health policy.
- A probationary period may apply.
