About the opportunity
The Patient Services Assistant provides a Patient Handling and Supportive Clinical Role to the Ingham Health Service and contribute to quality care by assisting patients/clients under the direction of the clinical staff.
This role will perform additional roles (cleaning) as directed by the Operational Services Manager or the Clinical Staff within the Operational Services Officer Patient Handling Scope.
PLEASE NOTE - This is a permanent part-time role, working 45.6 hours per fortnight.

Ingham Health Service is a 28-bed inpatient facility with emergency and general surgical services.

Competitive salary and benefits:
We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.
- Salary range: $31.24 - $33.33 p.h. (OO2)
- 4 weeks annual leave (pro rata) with 17.5% loading
- Locality allowance
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
- Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available
Requirements:
- This is a VPD risk role. Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
How you will be assessed:
- Experience in patient movement and handling.
- Experience in prioritising and co-ordinating work schedules to meet deadlines.
- Possession of both written and oral communication skills and an ability to interact with all levels of staff, to establish and maintain productive relationships.
- Ability and willingness to work towards the completion of approved training programs.
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
- Basic understanding of or the ability to acquire knowledge of workplace health and safety, equal employment opportunity and anti-discrimination practices and behaviours as applied in the working environment.
