• Salary range: $54.44 to $58.30 p.h. (NG6, band 1)
• 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
• 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation

About your opportunity:

The Lactation Consultant provides specialised, evidence-based lactation support within the Neonatal Unit, which delivers family-centred care to newborns and families across North Queensland as the only tertiary neonatal service outside Brisbane.

Working across the NICU, Special Care Nursery and the neonatal Retrieval/Transport Service, the role directly assists mothers to establish and maintain milk supply, manage lactation challenges, and progress their babies from tube to oral and breastfeeding.

Role Requirements:

• Mandatory qualifications and proof of registration (AHPRA).
• Certified as a Lactation Consultant as per the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE).
• Completion of Neonatal Specific Competencies is mandatory for nursing staff working within the Neonatal Unit.
• This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
• Probation period may apply.
• Pre-employment checks will be conducted, including criminal history clearance.
