About this role
About the opportunity
The role of the Clinical Nurse is to provide direct nursing care utilising clinical skills, education and support to patients/clients and nursing staff within the Charters Towers Health Service to ensure the provision of best practice and quality patient care.
PLEASE NOTE - The varying contract periods available are listed below -
- Temporary full-time, up to 01/10/2026
- Temporary full-time and part-time, up to 01/12/2026 (hours variable)
- Temporary full-time and part-time, up to 24/01/2027 (hours variable)
- Temporary part-time up to 31/03/2027 (48 hours per fortnight)
Role requirements
- Qualification: Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.
- Highly Desirable:
- Possession of a relevant postgraduate qualification in an appropriate field is highly desirable. Such experience may be discipline specific or have a service area focus.
- Extensive experience in Emergency Department and a current Adult Life Support certificate.
- Adult Life Support certificate: Must obtain and maintain an annual competency in Advanced Life Support as per THHSCLI040151 Life Support Training and Assessment
- Shift Workers: Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster, which will include participation in an on-call roster.
- On-call: Appointees may be required to participate in an on-call
- Applicant ideally will have a working knowledge of a range of software packages used in the clinical and management environment, e.g., Microsoft Windows, Excel, Access, Matrix and Power Point.

- Salary range: $4368.80 - $4678.10 p.f. (full-time) / $57.48 - $61.55 p.h. (part-time) (NG6-1)
- 4 weeks annual leave (pro rata) with 17.5% loading

- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
- Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available
