Surgical Ward 1 is a 31-bed inpatient facility providing high-quality orthopaedic, ophthalmology and gynaecology services to patients across North Queensland. The ward services communities including Ingham, Ayr, Home Hill, Charters Towers, Richmond, Hughenden, Mount Isa, Magnetic Island and Palm Island, with referrals also accepted from Mackay, Cairns and Mornington Island.

We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.

• Salary range: $140,632 to $152,685 p.a. (Nurse Grade 7)
• 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
• 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation

About your opportunity

The Clinical Nurse Consultant (Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology and Gynaecology) will provide effective clinical and professional leadership to nursing staff in Surgical Ward One through the provision of specialist expertise and by taking specific responsibility for patient outcomes, quality and patient experience. This position works collaboratively with the Nurse Unit Manager to drive efficiency and quality initiatives across the ward.
