Social Worker / Occupational Therapist / Psychologist (Mental Health Clinician)

About the opportunity   

The Mental Health Clinician in the Acute Care Team (ACT), Mental Health Service Group provides triage, assessment and consultation liaison for all consumers referred to ACT.  The position will be required to work in both community and the Townsville University Hospital Emergency Department environments.

The position will be required to work collaboratively with consumers and multidisciplinary professionals to provide mental health assessment, intervention and consultation, mobile crisis response and case management duties as required in accordance with professional standards and legislation consistent with the 10 Year Mental Health Strategy for Queensland and the National Standards for Mental Health Services in the Mental Health Acute Care Team.

PLEASE NOTE - This is either a permanent full-time or part-time position (hours negotiable).

Role requirements

• Social Work - must hold at least a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification from an accredited tertiary institution in Social Work as well as eligibility for full membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). While not mandatory, status as an AASW accredited Mental Health Social Worker is highly regarded. 
• Occupational Therapy - must hold a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification from an accredited tertiary institution in Occupational Therapy. Registration with the Occupational Therapist Board Australia (AHPRA) is required.
• Psychology - must possess a four year degree in Psychology (Honours, Graduate Diploma) from an accredited tertiary institution. Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia is required. Possession of a Masters or Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from an accredited tertiary institution, or significant progress towards this, would be highly regarded. 
• Drivers Licence: This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate license endorsement to operate this vehicle is required. 
• Authorised Mental Health Practitioner or the ability to become authorised is desirable
• This is a VPD risk role. Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.

• Salary range: $3067.00-$4453.50 p.f. / $40.35-$58.59 p.h. (HP3)
